Healing and the Lord's Supper By John Chopores Healing comes by the blood of Christ Healing comes to Christians
by the body and blood of Christ Cf.1CO 10:16 The cup
of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The
bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? (KJV) 1CO The life of a man is in his
blood Cf. GEN 9:4 But flesh with the life thereof, {which is} the blood
thereof, shall ye not eat. (KJV) When a Christian takes part
in the Lord's Supper he/she is taking part in the life blood of Christ. If that
Christian takes part "unworthily", that person is putting sin, which
is bad blood into the system of Christ and that blood and the person doing it
will be rejected! (1Corinthians (27) Wherefore whosoever
shall eat this bread, and drink {this} cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be
guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. (28) But let a man examine himself,
and so let him eat of {that} bread, and drink of {that} cup. (29) For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to
himself, not discerning the Lord's body. (30) For this cause many {are} weak
and sickly among you, and many sleep. Being a part of a church Being part of a church is
helpful for getting healed Cf. JAM 5:16 Confess {your} faults one to another,
and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer
of a righteous man availeth much. (KJV) If you do not meet with other
Christians, who will you confess your faults to and how can you pray for one
another? Also, who will you eat the
Lord's Supper with? Also, what if God has a gift
of healing for you through the hands of another Christian? Cf. 1CO 12:9 To
another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same
Spirit; (KJV)1CO 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all
the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also {is} Christ.
(KJV) God wants us to work with and
for each other cf. 1CO Besides, it is the will of
God that we meet together Cf. HEB And it would be sin for us to
not do the will of God! Cf .JAM At this point, I would like
to point out that a person having sin in his/her life is not always the reason
that a person is sick cf. (John 9:2-3 KJV) (2) And his disciples asked
him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
(3) Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor
his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. Divine healing is a part of the works of
Christ By the way, the works of God
were made manifest when Jesus healed the man! cf. JOH 9:7 And
said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation,
Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. (KJV)
